This product I am using for my succulent home plants, but you can use it for any plants. It is protecting plants from overwatering because absorb extra water and protects roots from death. For cactuses and succulents I am using good regular soil and this lava, mixing 50/50, succulents don't like rich dirt. Also you can use this lava pieces as a plant pot decoration, just put it ot top of existing soil and your plant will look cool.

I’m not sure exactly what to say about these lava rocks except they do their job. They hold moisture in and what I specifically like about them is they make your potted plants look more attractive. You do not have to see the site of messy dirt on top and as your plants grow, they do not collect that dirt And look unsightly.

But other than that, these come in a really generous sized bag, and you do not need to have an excessive amount in your potted plant in order for them to do their job.
